Writing a Business Plan
On January 24, 2014, American Corner offered a special lecture on How to Write a Business Plan to over 300 university students at Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC). Ms. Sarah Fitzgerald, the Director of Lending, Montana Community Development Corporation (Montana CDC, USA) lectured Ms. Sarah focused on two important points are community works and writing a business plan.
Lending community in Montana CDC, there are two types of Consulting Centers in the community. Small Business Development Center is free business consulting on business planning, accounting, marketing, and financing with low cost of business training. And Procurement Technical Assistance Center (P-TAC) is free consulting for business interested in government contracts. In addition to this her community function is like business loans system which would help and develop Montana people who are willing to do their own business.
Writing a business plan is another crucial idea for running our own business in successful ways. Sarah has mentioned that writing a business plan is outlining on six categories such as Executive Summary, Business Description, Marketing Plan, Operations, Financial Plan, and Request for Financing. After Sarah’s lecture, there were many students asking for some advices in which situation would be applied for doing business in Cambodia.
8th AMERICANA QUIZ 2014
The American Corner of Cambodia is pleased to announce the 8th Americana Quiz. The quiz is offered monthly. It aims to test participants’ knowledge on a wide range of American subjects including culture, society, history, geography, government and politics. Participants are encouraged to use materials including books, periodicals, and Internet terminals available in the Corner to find answers for 10 questions on the quiz.The 8th quiz is offered from February 01 – February 28, 2014. Prizes include Bags, Flash Drives, Badmintons, Bottles, Pens, and Printing Coupons (10 Pages for those who will not get the prizes). Participants who get all the correct answers will be drawn to win the prizes. The result of the quiz will be posted on March 01, 2014.
The Official Opening Ceremony of the EducationUSA Advising Center
U.S. Ambassador William E. Todd inaugurated Cambodia’s newest EducationUSA Advising Center inside the American Corner at Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC) to promote the pursuit of higher education in the United States. In his remarks, Ambassador Todd stated that “this newly renovated facility is a sign of America’s commitment to the future of Cambodia, particularly the youth, and it will not only provide the youth of Cambodia with better access to educational opportunity in the United States, but will also contribute to a brighter future of Cambodia.” Dr. Kol Pheng, President of PUC, joined Ambassador Todd in cutting the ceremonial ribbon to mark the occasion.
