International students may also apply for private scholarships offered through the Adams State University Foundation and/or other private agencies. International students will receive $5,000 (Experience Colorado yearly scholarship) and IN ADDITION will also receive $3,400 yearly institutional special scholarship (Total: $8,400). For both awards, the students will have to maintain a 2.0 accumulative GPA in order to keep on receiving the scholarships each year.

Typically, an international student can earn about $5,000 or more per year based upon $8.00 per hour pay rate.

Students will also have the possibility to work for one-year in USA after they graduate in their related course of study if approved by SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program). ASU will assist international students with the application process in this regard.

UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS' (KS) SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING EMBARKS ON MAJOR EXPANSION

The School of Engineering at the University of Kansas has embarked on a major expansion that will increase the size of the student body, research endeavors, and opportunities for students and faculty. Through an $80 million project, two new structures are under construction that will provide an additional 135,000 square feet of classroom, laboratory and office space. The new classrooms come in a variety of sizes and employ newer designs that help ensure students receive a quality learning experience despite growing enrollments. Another major facet of the expansion project is the creation of a high-bay facility on KU’s West Campus. The structure will provide 10,000 square feet for the structural testing area, with a 40-foot wall. In addition there will be another 3,000 square feet set aside for student projects. The high bay facility is expected to be complete by fall 2014 and the main structure at the Engineering Complex is expected to be ready for occupancy in summer 2015, in time for the start of the fall 2015 semester. Additional details about the designs for the new buildings can be found here: http://engr.ku.edu/news/2013-05-3/school-unveils-final-designs-new-engineering-build.
